Choosing a New Build Energy Saving Plan

FER will provide you, the client with an energy saving blueprint for your project right throughout the construction process.

We will carry out a detailed analysis of both the house drawings and specifications which we will use to complete a comprehensive report. This report will then be used to ensure that the project will achieve a higher energy performance rating and help reduce running costs upon project completion. This report will be completed in compliance with the relevant current building regulations and technical guidance documents (TGD), namely the current Part L Building Regulations.

Upon receiving all the required information and data, through thorough calculations and also through our experience in the construction industry, we can compile a clear and concise report which will detail the necessary advice and information needed to ensure that your property is as energy efficient as possible.

The process of completing an energy saving plan is as follows:

• We will initially meet with the client and go through the entire process and outline the specific goals and standards with which we hope to achieve through analysis of all areas of the project. Each project is different and all projects are treated with equal care and attention.
• We will outline important information on energy saving considerations that are critical for the energy saving plan. This includes the availability of better or more efficient products, the possibility of more efficient construction detailing and most importantly, the availability of more efficient heating systems. We will provide the client with a menu of different products and systems that are energy efficient. On this menu also there will be a cost effect analysis of each product or system.
• As stated above, each individual project is different and is treated as such, thus we will investigate each product or system on an individual project basis. The research and data we provide will help the client make an informed decision on both the cost effectiveness and best fit for the project.
• Through the calculation of various insulation U-values, we will provide sufficient information for the client to carry out an informed cost analysis.
• Upon completion of the above process, from our extensive knowledge and experience we will identify various cost-effective renewable technologies that would be of the clients benefit.
• We will then provide a Building Energy Rating (BER) Certificate with an agreed building specification prior to construction in report format.
• Upon completion of the dwelling, we will then survey the property and provide the client with a final BER Certificate and report.
